In setting the objectives of the Association and
planning its future activities, the trustees have given
careful consideration to the Charity Commission’s
general guidance on public benefit. In particular, the
trustees consider how planned activities will contribute
to the aims and objectives that have been set.

During the year ended 31 December 2021, the
Association
generated income of £11,873, which was comprised of
members' subscription fees of £11,868 and bank interest
received of £5.
Expenditure in the year totalled £6,960. This included
administration of Council Elections by the CIVICA, funding
research and payment to Copyright Clearance Centre.
Cash funds at 31 December 2021 totalled £94,527.
The 2021 Annual Meeting was held virtually over 2 days
in November 2021. 362 delegates registered to attend this
successful meeting.

As at 31 December 2021, the charity's reserves stood at
£94,527 per the Statement of Assets and Liabilities, all
being assets held in cash balances. The trustees believe
that this is a sufficient level to provide the funds to fulfil the
objectives of the charity. In particular, monetary support is
offered for applications for setting up Registries, research
projects and the provision of patient information through
web hosting and printed materials. Discussions have also
been held regarding the possibility of the Association
running its own courses/study days which would require
significant investment.

There are no going concern issues of which the trustees
are aware. Assets and liabilities are at a level which
