Objects of the charlty The charity is a charitable incorporated organisation and is govemed by its Constitution. The objects of the charity. as set out in the goveming document are: a) to advance the Christian farth in accordance Iwth the Statement of Beliets in such ways and in suth parts of the United Kingdom or the vmrld as the charity trustees from time to time may think fit,. b) lo relieve sickness and financial hardship and to promote and preserve good health by the provision of funds, goods or sep4ices of any kind, incfuding through the provision of counselling and support in such parts of the United Kingdom or the yr1d as the chanty trustees from time to time may think fit. The trustees note that Ihe Church is not a building. but a gathering of ordinary people of different ages and backgrounds. whose lives have been changed by Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The New Testament reveals the Church as a communty of people, properfy taught and cared for, by loving and serving Jesus Christ, were also commttted to love and care for each other and to bring a blessing to the area in which they lived. It is not alon8 in this, it is one of many Churches in the area, county and all over the *r1d that is rfrdiscovering the excitement of knowing Jesus Christ. The vision is to see the people of Leeds me into this 8xp8nence of knowing Jesus as their Lord, Saviour and fn'end. Summary of the charitys main activities arbd achievements To further the above objects and vision, the charrtls main actNities and athievements We as follows.. The main actNities Vre as follows: 1. Events. The veklY pattem continues to be as follows: -Sunday'. All ages Sunday sch¢1 followed by fonnal ser¥ic8. In summer 2024 an evening service was trialed. -Mid-we8k.' community groups in homes, with a central prayer meeting on the first Wednesday of the monlh. -Thursday: Focus meeting for students. 2. Employment of an Ass¢xiate Minister has continued throughout the year to assisl the Minister in the overall tasks of the church and to take responsibility fof work with students. This year was the middle year of a Ihree-year contract. 3. We have retained use of the same venue ck>se to the Universty and reorganised the main room in order to cope with an increased number of attendees. 4. Further fund raising to enable the growth of the church. 5. Alleviation of hardship within the church and the Ctty of Leeds. and further afield by means of a collection at Sunday moming servIs.

ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30TH SEPTEMBER 2024 Most the tharivs activtiies are undertaken by volunteers and the dftty could not operate effectively without their efforts. In planning the activities the Trustees have applied the guKlance on public benefft issued by the Charity Commission. Structure, Governance and Management Responsibility for setting policy and for making operating decisions rests with the trustees tho meet regularly to monitor the activities of the charity. Responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the harity rests with a senior management team comprising the Elders of the Church along with the Associate Minister who meet monthly. New trustees are recruited and appointed by the existing trustees and are appointed by a resolutson passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity Financial review During the year income decreased by £32.705. to £255.824. and expenditure decreased by £3.804. to £177,603. As a result surplus for the year decreased by £28,901, to £78,221 and the chantys net current assets increased by the same amount. to £361.303. Reserves policy The trustees have detefmined that the charity should aim to hold unrestricted cash of no less than £85.000 (which equates to al)out 6 months, of unrestricted expenditure) so that the charity could continue to operate should income and l or expenditure vary adversely. At the year end. the charity held unrestricted Gash of £337.811 and the tharity is o)mplwng with its reserves policy. The holding of reseeS facilitates the pennanent estsblishment of the thurch. In this context. the employment of an Associate Minister has continued. The purchase of a permanent church building continues to be a top prioritv. Key rlsks and uncertalntle8 The Charity is exposed to various risks - be they operational, financial or reputational. The trustees review the charity's activities regularly to idents'fy significant risks and, where possible. they take appropriate measures to mitigate those risks. Responslbllltles of trustees under charlty law The trustees are responsible for preparing the trustees, annual report and the financial statements in accordance wrth applicable law and Untted Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom GeneraSly Accepted Accounting Practice).

The trustee8 are responsible for keeping proper a<xounting records that disdose wtih reasonable accuracy at any time the finanrAal position of the chaiity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011 and the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the chartty and hen¢e for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
