Vemon Ellis Foundation and Plymouth Music Education Hub ftjnded Sound Exptorers wtth Universtty of Plymouth partnering through six Earfy Childhood Studies and Music placements. 'The regular sessions have had a high impatt on the d)ildren's musit>lty, but also theif confidence, ht)w they communic21e with each other and their emotional and social wellbeing. The Evolve team took lirre to understand our pedagogical approach to our da11y practitr£ and ensured their sessions were in line. They provided adult-led group lirlles with sltucture and opportunrties lor thildren to share theiT own ideas and prowded learning provocations for children to practice their skills, be inventive and creative. This approach has built the Confidence of the nursery staff and supported them through CPD and in the moment practice. The nursery staff have then taken this positive support and felt encouraged to follow up the practice throughout the week and with the children who attend on other days. We are seeing musical opportunities filter through thè session and the routines, building Il into our daily practice through song, ditti'es and musicAI phrases..

Bright Start Children's Centre. and Hope House. Atross the year Evofve Music delivered 124 Dads Rock sessions engaging 434 dads and yOLFng children. Ytsulh Music, Stepladder and the Big Lottery Reaehing Communities Programtne have SUPPDrtèd Dads Rock in 2022-2023, and wthin the year funding has been secured from Arts Counryl England to continue and extend this progratnme further across the Soth West. Mini Music Makers is a new partnership project with the West of England Music Aliance that looks to build on the Soulld Explorers approach lo earfy years mu51c practice and ￿11 support educators in North Somerset, Bath and North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire. We successfully delivered ou¥ Big Lottery Rèaching Commun￿"eS (unded AdvénturÈr¥ pilot programme in partnership with Action for Children in autumn temi 2023. On aftèmate weeks we delivered activities for young parents in Newton Abbot and Teignbridge. supporting parents aged 25 and under, many of whom have been through the care system. We will be building on this partnership over ihe next three years through support from Children in Need and the Devon Community Foundation. Inclusive Community Music for Young Pèople Since 2020 we have been delivering indusive community music sesstons for neurodTverse young people in Radstock, in outreach settings and online. through our Sound Lab prograTnme. Within the year this proje¢t was kindly supported by the Radcliffe Trusi and The Ashley Family Foun¢Jab"on and in 202&2024 further fvnding has been secured lo continue these weekty sessions. In 2023 we have also extended our work with neurodwerse young people to North Somerset through the ￿delIvery of the Unscripted holiday programme wrth the West of England MU￿CAll$an￿. Developing the Community Music Sector For the freelance music leader workfor￿, we have delNered training in traurna-infotrred practic£.' inclusive musi practice and the benefits of musieal play WTth thildren with soaal, emots.onal and mental hèalth needs. We have also hosted reflective sessions to allow thosé working in the field to share their practices and challenges. Evaluation data 2nd report from the Sound ExploTrrs programme have been shared wth the c￿[lIm￿nity music sector and published online. All Evolve Music's rates of pay have brought in line with Ihose recommended by the Musiaans Union. Funders & Fundraising We are gratefvl to everyone who has pledged support to Ev0￿e Music through the year. Play it Forward is a new ftjndraising initiive that inMtes ehoirs, orchestras. community musical groups and Ènsembles in the South West to 'donate' one of their coneerts to Evolve Music by making Evolve Music the designated chanty partner lor the event. This is done through a number of med)anisms. either donating ticket revenue, pro￿lding an option to donate when purchasing ticets, or having digital andlor physical eollection methods on the night.

The Vemon Ellis Foundation, The Nation31 Lottery Community Fund, The Ashley Farnity Foundation. Youth Music, The Radcliffè Trust, Second Step Somerset and Frome Town Council. We also receivèd importanl support from Youth Music Recharge Fund towaid5 the ftjnding of the charity's core management and operational costs. The Trustees would like to express their sin￿re gratitude to all the org3nisalions which kindly supported the charity and its work during the year. After all direct and indirecl costs, the charty recx)rded a nel 54Jrplus for the year of £7,880, a small improvement on the prewous year. Restricted fvnds of £23,753 were carried fO￿ard al the year end, with total (2sh resources of almost £57,000. Last year the trustees adopted a new reserves policy under whith the charity seeks to maintain a level of unrestricted rèserves suftiaent to cover be￿een 3 and 6 months of budgeled core operats'ng costs.
