Section D Achievements and performance
The Charity is dormant since Covid. We are unwilling to restart Summary of the main operations until we have secured an outdoor venue from which to achievements of the charity conduct operations. The Trustees have been conducting an extensive during the year search for such a venue. The Trustees have now abandoned this search as we have exhausted every avenue open to us within the Charities operating area. We have written to every landowner with a body of water on their land in Teesdale and Weirdale – none are willing to let the club use their water to conduct the club’s charitable activities. Local business Wittton Castle worked with us for almost two years but dropped us just before we were due to sign an agreement with them in favour of a commercial operator. As a result we agreed on the 22[nd] Oct 2024 to wind up the club from January 2025. We agreed to sell club assets or donate them to relevant local charitable bodies who could use them. The final financial proceeds plus the club cash reserves were agreed to be split in two and donated to our two local Search and rescue organisations – Swaledale Search and Rescue and Teesdale and Weerdale Search and Rescue.
