Swindon Tram 13 Trust Trustees’ Report for the Period 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2021
The Trust was formed as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation numbered 1171113 on 13 January 2017 for the purpose of acquiring, restoring and displaying Swindon Tram 13.
The Trust’s registered address is: Badbury Acre Berricot Lane Swindon Wiltshire SN4 0EX
The Trustees during the period and up to the date of this report were:
Neil Butters (Chairman) Noel Beauchamp (resigned 7 October 2021) Brian Mattock (died 12 March 2021) Anthony Cohen Colin Hatch (appointed 7 October 2021) Michael Pringle (appointed 7 October 2021) Kirsteen Fraser (appointed 18 January 2022) Vijay Manro (appointed 4 March 2022)
Brian Mattock sadly died after the year end on 12 March 2021.
The Trust is run by its Trustees who meet from time to time as and when the need arises.
During 2021 the Trustees have been seeking to move the Tram to a location in the Swindon area where it can be restored and such a location has now been identified. Metalwork for a building to house and restore Tram 13 was purchased in 2020 and it was hoped to erect this and to move the tram there. However, the site to which the tram was to have been moved has become unavailable and the search for a suitable location is continuing.
The links to a number of organisations relevant to the progress of the project have been followed up during 2020 and efforts to locate a suitable place for display where the tram might ultimately be located once restored are ongoing.
2021 has been another quiet year financially for the Trust. The bank balance at 31 December 2021 of £5,765 is considered adequate for the Trust’s present needs but considerable further funds will be required once restoration can begin in earnest.
