LISKEARD & DISTRICT AGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATION CHARITY NUMBER 1170999 Trustees Report for the Year Ending 30th September 2022
Finally, after three years we were able to hold a show again following the global pandemic, and what a show it turned out to be. We experienced the largest crowd that the show has had in recent memory, which brough a welcome boost to the association’s finances.
Total income was £96,469 of which just over £61,000 was through gate receipts. Income from tradestands and agricultural entries was around £20,000.
Expenditure for the year was £74,292. The largest area of expenditure related to showground expenses including, marquee hire, toilet hire and equipment hire (tables and chairs) at £31,635 in total.
Overall, this has resulted in a surplus for the year of £22,177 which has more than recovered the c£16,000 that the association lost over the period of the pandemic, when it was unable to hold a show in either 2021 nor 2022.
However, whilst a deficit was made over the last two years, the association still had healthy balances of £99,440 before the 2022 show. As a result of the surplus that was achieved in 2022, the association now has reserves of £121,617 at 30[th] September 2022.
The 2023 show is due to take place on 8[th] July and we look forward to another bumper crowd and a great event in the local calendar again.
