Activities
YLC facilitates networks, training and partnerships alongside our members VCSE and partners. This assists in identifying key issues for children, young people and families. We then work with our members and young people to grow their organisations and promote joint working and best practice to improve outcomes for children, young people and families in the Wakefield District.
Objects: The Advancement In Life Of Children And Young People, And The Support Of Families In Need, In Particularly But Not Exclusively, By Promoting The Effectiveness And Efficiency Of Charities And Charitable Activities Of Voluntary Organisations And Supporting And Assisting Voluntary Organisations Working With Young People And Families In Order To Achieve These Purposes.activities In Furtherance Of This Will Include:liaising Between Charities, Voluntary Organisations And Government Agencies On Relevant Issues To Support The Advancement In Life Of Children And Young People, And The Support Of Families In Need, Children, Young People And Families.providing Training, Conferences And Seminars On Subjects Relevant To The Efficiency Of The Children And Young People’s Voluntary Sectoridentifying Needs In The Voluntary Sector And Establishing Projects To Address Themassisting In The Administration Of Funding Programmes To Charities And Voluntary Organisations, Monitoring For Grants, Recommending Grants, Assisting Applications Of Grantsproviding Information To The Press And The Public On The Operation Of, Or Problems Encountered By The Children And Young People’s Voluntary Sectoracting As A Representative Of The Voluntary Sector In Relation To Local Government Policies And Practicesextend The Activities Of The Voluntary Organisations To Whom Services Are Provided Into New Areas Of Activity Which Benefit The Public In Particular Children, Young People And Their Families.extend The Participation In The Voluntary Sector Of Sections Of The Community Who Are Under Representedimprove The Services Of Children And Young People’s Organizations In Terms Of Efficiency, Effectiveness And Qualityco-Ordinate Both Existing Charitable And Non-Charitable Agencies That Have A Common Goal Of Providing Charitable Services Or Relief To Children, Young People And The Support Of Families In Needliaising With, And Acting As A Forum For The Exchange Of Information Between Agencies Working In The Field Of Advancing The Lives Of Children, Young People And Families In Need.representing A Range Of Views From The Children And Young People’s Voluntary Sectorrepresenting The Views Of The Ultimate Beneficiaries Children, Young People And Families In Need To Policy Makers And Service Providersproviding Advice And Information To Agencies In The Children And Young People’s Field To Support The Advancement In Life Of Children And Young People, And The Support Of Families In Need
