Financial Review

Financial Review
Review of the charity’s
financial position at the end
of the period
Para 1.21 Note that the charity receives money
from the Alton Beer Festival and
distributes this to charitable causes in
the Alton area, in accordance with its
Constitution. As a result of Covid-19,
the Alton Beer Festival could not hold
any events. So no funds were raised,
and ABFCT received £0 funds. It
distributed £3,115.00, however, when
grant recipients from 2019-20 belatedly
submitted overdue documents relating
to grants awarded (but not distributed in
part or in full) in 2019-20. These funds
are held in a TSB bank account. There
were no expenses in the period, and the
charity has no other assets, liabilities or
reserves.
Statement explaining the
policy for holding reserves
stating why they are held
Para 1.22 We do not hold a reserve. It should be
noted that a £25 float is held in the TSB
bank account.
Amount of reserves held Para 1.22 We do not hold a reserve. It should be
noted that a £25 float is held in the TSB
bank account.
Reasons for holding zero
reserves
Para 1.22 There is no requirement to hold any
reserves. The charity aims to distribute
all the money it receives in the year of
receipt, in order to benefit the
community as soon as possible.
Details of fund materially in
deficit
Para 1.24 There are no deficits.
Explanation of any
uncertainties about the
charity continuing as a going
concern
Para 1.23 As a result of the coronavirus pandemic,
no Alton Beer Festival events were held
from 1st April 2021 through 31st March
2022. When Alton Beer Festival
resumes its activities, and transfers
funds to the charity, then the charity can
resume distribution of grants. The
charity will continue for as long as the
Alton Beer festival is in existence, even
if festivals—and thus the charity’s active
distribution of grants—must be put on
hold in response to the pandemic.
