A decent standard of education provided for childrèn within Kibera whose parentslguardians would have otherwise struggled to provide the necessary funds for the children to complete their primary and secondary school education and furth8r education. The organisation aims to provide the children under its sponsorship with the opportunity to shape their own future by obtaining an education which is very much required in Kenya if Ihey are to exit the 'pov6rty trap. which thos8 Wlthin Kibera generally experience. The direct beneficiaries of this organisation are the children within primary and secondary school and higher education whose education is paid for. The indirect beneficiaries are their families who can focus on providing food and shelter for the children wilh the knowledge that their education has beèn funded. Additionally. Kickslart Kibera hopes that other children within Kibera will feel motivated and inspired by seeing their peers who are from similar backgrounds to them, with the opportunity to advance their education. Section D Achievements and performance We have paid fe8s for 5 students - 1 student in college, 2 students compleling post secondary school vocational courses, 1 student in secondary school and 1 student in primary s¢h¢)ol. Summary of the maln achievements of tho charity during the year The student in college completed their course in Social Work and Community Development at the end of 2023 with a distinction achieved. This top grade was achieved by just 6 olher students out of the 101 students on the course. The student had internship opportunities during the course, providing her with crucial work experience and increasing her likelihood of obtaining a job aftar completion of the course. Kickstart Kibera paid for the student's lodging and college fees during this course. 1 of the 2 students completing post secondary sthool vocational courses completed a diploma in beauty therapy. The other sludent completed an IT course alongside training in key Microsoft packages and attended an art school. The 1 student in secondary school is a new stud8nt sponsored by Kickstart Kibera in 2023. The 1 prrmary school student finished primary school in 2023 and we have decided to continue sponsoring them into secondary school in 2024. TAR March 2012
