The following activities were completed for this
period are:-
Fishmoor & Spade Millthe Associations
venues day / evening activities, March to Oct
for small groups of Young People to enjoy
paddling and sailing on-water sessions.
Fishmoor Boathouse full planning
permission was granted for a Boathouse on
30thMay 2024. The Association is engaged
with BwD Borough Council for a lease for
the land to build the Boathouse.A separate
Access agreement is currently being negotiated
with United Utilities the reservoir owners.
Spade Mill Buildingthere have been funding
for a new hand winch to launch and recover
heavy boats and purchase of a new outboard
motor for the safety boat. In addition United
Utilities have granted permission to make
improvements to the gate entrance. The
Association is now looking at sources of
fundingfor these works.

Para 1.20 The Associations aim ‘to advance the
education of Young People in all aspects of
watersports’ was achieved by a programme of
events during the year. Our annual programme
of activities include:-
Managing and operating our dedicated water
sports centres atFishmoor(Blackburn) &
Spade Mill(Longridge) reservoirs. These
venues were open between March and Oct for
our members to allow small groups of Young
People (YP) to enjoy water activities e.g.
paddling and sailing.
NB – ‘Waterdays’our annual watersports
weekend for circa 250 YP was held on 20/21 st
July 2024 on Lake Coniston .
NewFishmoor Boathousefundraising during
2024/25 did not progress further however with
planning fees this now stands at £3,576 we
intend to use towards further planning &
building costs.
Spade Mill Buildingsailing improvements were
completed during 2024/25 with the
completion of the safety boat SB3
refurbishment.
