Para 1.20 The Associations aim ‘to advance the education
of Young People in all aspects of watersports’
was achieved by a programme of events during
the year. Our annual programme of activities
include:-
Managing and operating our dedicated water
sports centres atFishmoor(Blackburn) &Spade
Mill(Longridge) reservoirs. These venues were
open between March and Oct for our members
to allow small groups of Young People (YP) to
enjoy water activities e.g. paddling and sailing.
NB – ‘Waterdays’our annual watersports
weekend for circa 250 YP planned for 22/23rd
July 2023 on Lake Conistion had to be cancelled
due to extreme weather conditions.
NewFishmoor Boathousefundraising during
2023/24 did not progress further however with
planning fees this now stands at £3,576 to be
used towards further planning & building costs.
Spade Mill Buildingsailing improvements were
completed during 2023/24 with the refurbished
safetyboat SB3.
