Achievements and Performance Achievements and Performance Achievements and Performance
SORP reference
1. We did some public lectures in 2022,
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 but volunteer time was mostly spent
preparing reports for publication and
archiving data in the publically
accessible Archaeological Data
Service. We also started a new
collaborative project, with staff from
the British Geological Survey,
investigating the geochemistry of the
flint from previous excavations.
2. The charity is managed by a board of
Trustees who have had regard to the
Charity Commissioners guidance on
safeguarding and public benefit. The
finances, which are considered
satisfactory, are carefully controlled
but did not, this year, require an
independent examination.
3. Our present focus is to engage with
two other charities with sites known
to have been visited by Late Upper
Palaeolithic hunter-gatherers, which,
together with a site which we have
investigated, are all within the
watershed of the river Trent.
