The childion dwelop relationshlps wlh thelr reader which in tum lèads to confidence and enthusiasm and helps develop a love of rè8ding. At the stsrt of the $urnm8r term in 2023 we had 20 volunteers in 10 8chools and by the end of the spring temi 2024 we had 27 volunteer$ in 12 schools. During this yèar our volunteers have providèd one to one reading support to over 600 chikJr8WI. One of our bigg8$t successe5 this year was our Christmas book Donation schème. With the supwt of 25 Socal businèsses, 8n out.of-town author, our local Fire and Rescue HQ Bnd our volunteers, through a combinab'on of bTr)k and monètary donat¢ons, we were able to provide a Christmas book gift to every child In the 17 schools we support. 5200 books were wrapped up and donaled to these sch¢)ols to dlstribute to all their pupils.
