In the spring of 2023, a redundant cold war
cabin was recovered from within RAF
Marham and relocated to the Centre. This
is in the process of being restored and
renovated, with a view to serving as an
annex to the Centre. The ultimate goal will
be to restore electrical power to it allowing
various cold war displays to be housed
within the cabin.
The Heritage Centre held an event in
October 2023 to commemorate the English
Electric Canberra. The event was highly
successful with approximately 250 guests
across the entire weekend.
Over the course of the year, the Heritage
Centre welcomed in the region of 3,100
visitors, which included over multiple large
group visits from a variety of schools, clubs
and associations.
In October 2023 the Centre ran an aviation
patch event, which was a resounding
success with several hundred visitors over
a weekend.
In November 2023, the Heritage Centre
purchased a new computer and VR
headset to allow visitors to experience the
‘Berlin Blitz’, which details the story of a
207 Squadron operational Lancaster sortie
in WWII. This has proved so immersive and
popular that a second set up is being
considered, and also other missions are
being looked at to further the capability the
Centre offers.
