Section C Objectives and activities

Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document

The objects of the CIO are to establish and run a village hall and to promote for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Parish of East Pennard the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation and with the object of improving the conditions of life of the said inhabitants.

This 2020 year was initially able to hold a fund raising event but was then affected by the Covid restrictions. During a brief period in September the restrictions eased so that an AGM could be held but then the Village Hall was effectively closed.

The size of the Hall, with the social distancing that was required, did not make any fund raising events viable. All Planning was put on hold until the Covid situation became clearer. Lockdown prevented any activities.

Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)

Any surplus funds which are not likely to be needed for day to day expenditure are placed in on Deposit to earn interest.
