| Contribution made by volunteers | Volunteers have continued to contribute towards raising awareness of JSCN and with the development of the heritage project. This was with the support of existing 8 volunteers, no new volunteers were recruited in theperiod. |
| Achievement and Performance | JSCN completed its Awards for All project “Podcasts” by successfully publishing 30 episodes of Jewish TALK. In February 2020 JSCN’s Director met with Chief Rabbi Mirvis, who gave his full support for JSCN’s work with the Orthodox communities. A collaboration was formed with the History department of Swansea University, who worked with JSCN to write a project to identify the footprint of the Jewish community in the UK “Connecting Small Histories”. A grant bid to NTL Heritage Fund for £73,200 was successful. The 12 month project was able to commence on 01/04/2020 despite the Covid-19pandemic. |

| Achievement and Performance (cont…..) | During 2019-20 JSCN’s Director visited various communities across the country, including Cambridge, Nottingham, Isle of Wight, Southampton and Brighton. The pandemic ended the possibility of in-person visits. Instead JSCN initiated weekly online group meetings and attracted Leaders of small communities stretching from Aberdeen to Exeter and Belfast to Ramsgate. The adoption of online meetings led to unprecedented engagement with many other organisations, and the ability for JSCN to take part in Conferences, seminars and meetings across the UK, Europe, Israel and the USA. We also initiated an online Coffee-Break, to support individuals by helping to alleviate isolation and promote wellbeing. We were able to attract additional financial support from a small number of charitable trusts, along with small donations from individuals. The effect of the Covid-19 pandemic on JSCN has been to increase our workload by x4, through increased accessibility and the imperative to coordinate actions with other organisations in order to share information on the pandemic and share that with our community leaders. JSCN’s Director has now embarked upon a programme of professional development together with building capacity, in order to cope with and meet the new needs and expectations that have resulted through increased engagement. |
