Shed Trustees regulady attend the Southern Men's Sheds NeOrk quarterly meetings to exchange ideas and advice. The organisation aims to provide a safe. fully equipped, welcoming l¢)cation, predominantly but not exclusively for older men who live in Colden Common and the surrounding villages. Our aim is to offer somewhere to meet. tske part in workshop activities if so desired, bLrt more importantiy to socialise and overcome possible isolation of the members. Activities are aimed at toth the personal projects of members, but more predominantly at group projects lo produ items either for sale to support funds. or for local groups such as the primary school and local playgroups. Section D Achievements and performance Summary ofthe main achievements of the charfty during the year Due to the COVID pandemic, the Shed has remained closed as an active unit for the majority of the year. Regular Secunty and Safety inspections were carried out by Trustees during this period The delayed 2020 AGM and an EGM to discuss fLrture steps for The Shed were held at outside meetings at the end of May 2021. After this, the Shed has cautiously re-opened to nomial operation, allowing for COVID restrictions. Although the buildings have been closed, a number of small jobs have been done by individual members for people around the village.
Section E Financial review Brief statement of the charity's policy on r8s8rv8s Presently, the only agreed reserves retained in the Shed Bank Accounts are a) £1500 to cover Insurance and 12 months rent and b) a further £5000 as a maintenan Fund. These funds cover the basic running costs of Rent. Insuran Cover, and workshop consumables. Currently, any excess income from sales is being put aside to support the costs of future refurbishment.
