AGM 9[ th ] Oct 2023
FPTA of Ditchling Nursery and Primary School Registered Charity 1168313
Treasurer’s Report for year ending 3 ~~1~~[ st] August 2023 for AGM
The FPTA’s had yet another biggest ever fundraising year in 1st September 2022 - 31st August 2023 thanks to extra fundraising for the front garden and playground. A huge thank you to the Community.
The opening balance on 1[ st ] Sep 20212 was £18,039.61 (of which £200.10 held as cash for events).
This year we raised a gross income of £34,047.67 and after the cost of Events and Admin, this was a Net Income of £30,255.29. This included:-
-
£14,264.97 Net Income from FPTA fundraising events (flat y/y) including
-
£2000 from the Village Ball and £1,232.45 from the Holiday Raffle
-
£16,183.12 from one off donations and grants (up £8k y/y)
-
£6000 from Turner Dumbrells (up £4k y/y)
-
£3237.90 one off donations from parent led fundraising and £1.9k gift matching
-
£3577.19 raised by Ms Hill for the Front Garden
-
£1,321.27 Monthly parent donations (from 8 parents)
-
£1210.89 from Easy Fundraising, Amazon Smile and the village Swap’n’Share
Details of money raised at individual events are on the Income and Expenditure document attached (this years’ figures are to the left, last years’ figures for comparison, are to the right).
Throughout the year, we donated £30,837.66 to the school. This was by far our biggest year as we were able to spend last year’s surplus and realise Mrs Clarke’s IT vision. In particular, we supported our Governing Document through:
-
£25,257 towards Facilities and Equipment including: £15,284 on new laptops and interactive screens; £4,019 on the front garden and; £3,472 of our Turner Dumbrells grants on the firepit and pond
-
£4,941 towards Lessons and resources including French and Music lessons and Class wishlists
Details of these items are on the Income and Expenditure document. Administration costs were £192.80.
Spending this year exceeded income by £582.37 and the Year End balance was £17,457.24 held as £17,307.24 bank balance on 31st August 2023 and £150 cash having reduced our Events float and transferred £50.10 to our bank. Of this balance, £4,077 is from grants for the playground and pond.
Going forward we will budget:
-
£4,604 for annual commitments and Admin costs
-
£2,500 for the Annual Class lists
-
£2,300 to decorate the school and continue front garden and pond projects
Allowing for our £1k buffer, this leaves us with around £3k to spend supporting the school immediately. Given the uncertainty in the future of the FPTA, any further spending will be determined at point of request dependent on fundraising.
