Trustees will be appointed for a term of three years by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees Objectives & Activities Summary of the Objerts of the Charity as set out in its Governing Document The objects of the CIO are twofold: 11 To promote for the benefit of the inhabitants of Emersons Green, Mangotsfield and surrounding area, the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the condition of life of the said inhabitants, and 2) To promJte participation in the amateur sport of football in Emersons Green, Mangotsfield and surrounding area, at a gra55 roots level across all ages, abilities and gender5 via the provision of coaching and facilities for playing football and improving of health Summary of the Main Activities Undertaken for the Public Benefit in Relation to the Charity's Objects Mangotsfield & Blackhorse Sports & Community Association maintain for the benefit of all neighbours and local residents, Blackhorse Playing Fields as an open space, allowing all neighbours and the wider local community to regularly use the playing fields and MUGA, for recreational activities. The Pavilion and hall are maintained and hired for use to the local community for either local groups or keep fit organisations. Page4 of 9
Mangotsfield & Blackhorse Sports & Community Association Trustees, Annual Report for the Period Ended 30June 2024 Mangotsfield & Blackhorse Sports & Communtty Association provide and maintain two football pitches on the site for junior and senior hire, as well as maintaining the changing facilities and showers. At this time, this object is achieved through partnering with AFC Man8Otsfield, a senior football team recruiting from the local area, and Mangotsfield United Juniors, 3 junior team who also recruit from the local area across all age groups. The Playing fields are also used throughout the summer by many for Football practice including Under 7s, this provides a key entry level activity for young people into football. During this financial year MBSCA took on a 25 year lease on Mangotsfield United's Cossham Street site {Consisting of the Clubhouse, Ilvll floodlit pitch and 7v7 pitch on the area know locally as the 'Hut Field,). This new lease will enable the CIO to offer even more opportunities to the local community further advancing the charities objectives. The CIO was also gifted 12,000 Shares for Mangotsfield United FC Ltd in the perlod, valued at £1 each Achievements & P.erformance Statutory Declaration The trustees declare that they have complied with their duty to have due regard to the guidance on publlc benefit published by the commission in exercising their powers or duties. Summary of the Main Achievements of the Charity for the Year This is the end of M8SCA's seventh operating year as a CIO, still operating the Blackhorse Playing Field and Pavilion facility through a Tenanui at Will, MBSCA through voluntary time, carried out regular maintenance on the pitches and pavilion. It also now ha5 a 25 year lease on Mangotsfield United's Cossham Street ground, thi5 includes a Clubhouse. Ilvll floodlit pitch and a 7v7 pitch. all maintained by MBSCA for public Hire and use. MBCSA had again renewed its Contract with South Glos. Street Care to carry out maintenance to the, boundaries and general maintenance. However, MBSCA continue to maintain the pitches itself The charity continued to work with existing users of the facility (AFC Mangotsfield & Mangotsfield United Juniors) which ensures that the pitches are used to their capacity throughout the playing season, to mJximi5e income.. MBSCA have been successful in winning funding frorn the Football Foundation to install a 3G surface on the site of the Ilvll at Cossham Street, for the benefit of people within our operating area, this is in line with the Charities goals. During this financial talks have progressed significantly with the Football Foundation. Page5 of 9
Mangotsfield & Blackhorse Sports & Community Association Trustees, Annual Report for the Period Ended 30 June 2024 With Planning permission secured and the tender process completed (By the Foundation) The work to convert the pitch started taking place in the last week of the financial year. We believe we currently have enough reserves and revenue to cover maintenance of both sites. The 'Hut Field, area is within the lease and we will continue to use this for small sided teams locally with little maintenance required. We also (After any payments for the project) believe we have a sufficient reserve to begin taking operations on the newly upgraded site. Financial Review . Brief Statement of the Charity's Pollcy on Reserves Any Reserves carried forward from this financial year will be spent on further improving the Charity's assets and go towards the installation of a 3G surface. MBSCA are also saving toward5 upgrading the Changing facilities at Blackhorse Road. As every year, there will be ongoing maintenance of the old pavilion and outdoor playing surfaces. Street care for General Site Maintenance at Blackhorse, this contract is always under review. This is the only Contract the CIO is bound to at present.
