Trusteesmeet monthlytooverseestrategy,complianceandfinancialmanagement.

1. Objectives and Activities

The charity'sobjectives are toprovidethefacilitiesand environmentforitsmermbers andnon
memberstoparticipateinLawn Bowls,forbothenjoymentandto compete atalllevels.
Theseactivitiesalignwithourcharitablepurpose and contributetoimprovingthephysical
health,wellbeingandpersonaldevelopmentof theresidentsinandaroundBuilthWells.
TheCIOisaffiliatedtotheMen'sand LadiesMidWalesBowlingAssociation, Wales LawnBowls
and WorldBowls.
Asummary ofourmainactivitiesincludes
MondayClubofferssocial bowlingforall, providingachancetolearn and improveskills.On
Tuesdayevenings,theclubrunsaleaguewhereteams, formedbybothmembersandnon
memberscompeteforatrophy. Bothactivitiesattractnewcomers and helpplayersdevelop.
The CIO hasMen'sand LadiesteamswhichcompeteintheMidWalesLeague,twNOteamsthat
compete intheover60'sThursdayafternoonVeteransLeague,andateam that competes in the
Mid-WalesMixedLeague.
Several membershavecompetedat CountyandNationallevels.
Throughouttheseason,membersparticipatedinclubcompetitionsacrosseverydiscipline,
leading up toaweekendfinalewherefinalistsplayedfortitlesandtrophies.
Severalfriendlieswereheldbothhomeand away.
The CIO holdsanannualDinnerandPresentationsnight,whichis attendedby members,
partnerS,andfriends.
Duringthewinter,theclubfieldstwo darts teamsthatcompete bothat theclubandat other
localvenues.
TheStitchand Sewladiescontinuetousetheclubfacilitiesona Thursdaymorning.

2.Achievementsand Performance

Whilethisseason'sachievementshavenot matched thoseofthepreviousyear,we remain
committedtoachievingevengreater successinthecomingseason.
Thisyear:
Builthfinished fourthintheMidWalesLeaguetable.
IntheVetsLeagueBuilthfinishedthirdin thetable,andtheVWyesiders finished insixthplace.
IntheMixedLeague,theclubfinishedinthirdposition.

Builth ladies made it as far as the semi-finals in the Welsh Rinks competition.

NoneofourplayersqualifiedforaCountyFinalthisyearwhichwasdisappointing afterrecent
Successes.
YoungHenryDavieswentstraightthroughto CountyU18finalwherehe lostto amucholder and
more experiencedplayer.Theexperiencewillstandhimingoodsteadforfutureseasons.
TheclubhostedBuilthWellsHighSchoolforarecreationalBowlsDay
Sue JoneshasbeenselectedfortheWelshTeam andwillcompeteininternationalcompetition
inKualaLumpurinNovemberthisyear.

3.Financial Review

Thisyear hasseentheretirementofKen,ourresidentgreenkeeper.Weshouldtakethis
opportunitytothankhimforhismanyyears ofloyalserviceto theclub.
Toensurewemnaintainthehighstandardofourgreen,theTrusteesengagedtheservices of a
professional greenkeepingcompanyin thenameofAvonmore,whohavecompletedthe
autumn preparationofthegreen. Thecostforthiswas£4.1K,a considerablesumof money,but
inlinewithourexpectationsand budget(Thesecostswillbe seenin theaccountsforyear
ending30thSeptember2026).
Avonmoreishighlyregardedandrespectedgreenkeepingcompany.Theyhavedoneagoodjob,
andourgreenisingreat shape.Avonmore'sfeeisasignificantcosttotheclub,but anecessary
one.Further detailsof ourfinancialstatus areinourTreasure's report.
Therewillbe someadditionalAVonmorecostlater,asfurthervisitsarerequired,but theregular
mowingandother routine preparationand maintenanceactivitieswillbe carriedoutby
Volunteersfromtheclub.
