Objectives and Activities

SORP reference

the charity as set out in its
governing document
Para 1.17 To preserve and protect the health of
pregnant women who have previously
suffered a loss to Edward’s Syndrome,
in particular but not exclusively by:
Raising awareness of Edwards
Syndrome (Trisomy 18)
Providing a subsidy of £100 towards the
NIPT blood test
Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or
services identified in the
accounts.
Para 1.17 and
1.19
Raising awareness – attend public
events, handing out leaflets and talking
to the public about Edwards Syndrome.
We also actively raise awareness
through social media, regional press
and television.
Fundraising events – to raise funds to
subsidise £100 towards non-invasive
prenatal testing (for those that wish to
opt for private screening in pregnancy)
for women who have previously
suffered a loss to Edwards Syndrome.
We continue to support another charity
– Baby Loss Awareness. We sought
support for this from local
organisations, who lit up pink and blue
for the cause. We also put together a
baby loss memorial window display,
offering those that have lost the chance
to remember their little ones on our
memorial tree.
Statement confirming
whether the trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public

Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 The main achievements of the charity
for this year have been that:
-
Our fourth window display for
baby loss awareness week
(October 2022) was an
incredible success. We
remembered over 200 little
ones on our memory tree, and
it was received by the public
with such love and care. Our
local newspaper covered it
again, with a really lovely
write up.
-
We attended a local family fun
day with a tombola stall and
name the dog teddy. We had
some wonderful donations
from supporters and raised a
lot of money and awareness –
even spoke to our Mayor
about our charity and
Edwards Syndrome!
-
We donated selection boxes
to a local foodbank for
Christmas 2021.
-
We did our first Christmas
memorial window display.
-
We continued to raise
awareness via our social
media pages as due to
lockdown, we were unable to
arrange or attend any public
events.
