the charity as set out in its
governing document
Para 1.17 To preserve and protect the health of
pregnant women who have previously
suffered a loss to Edward’s Syndrome, in
particular but not exclusively by:
Raising awareness of Edwards
Syndrome (Trisomy 18).
Providing a subsidy of £100 towards the
non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) blood
test.
Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or
services identified in the
accounts.
Para 1.17 and
1.19
Raising awareness – attend public events,
handing out leaflets and talking to the public
about Edwards Syndrome. We also actively
raise awareness through social media,
regional press and television.

Fundraising events – to raise funds to
subsidise
£100
towards
non-invasive
prenatal testing (for those that wish to opt for
private screening in pregnancy) for women
who have previously suffered a loss to
Edwards Syndrome i.e. children’s Christmas
party.

Supporting other charities - Baby Loss
Awareness. We sought support for this from
local organisations, who lit up pink and blue
for the cause. We also put together a baby
loss memorial window display, offering those
that have lost the chance to remember their
little ones on our memorial tree.
Statement confirming
whether the trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity

Achievements and Performance

SORP reference

Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.

Para 1.20
The main achievements of the charity for
this year have been that:
-
We did a window display for
Trisomy 18 Awareness month
(March).
-
We also donated £100 to a local
lady who was raising money for
a cuddle cot for University
Hospital of South Wales.
-
Our second window display for
baby loss awareness week was
an incredible success. We
remembered approx. 200 little
ones on our memory tree, and it
was received by the public with
such love and care. Local
newspaper published a story
with pictures of our display as it
has grown significantly.
-
We donated supplies, such as
snacks, drinks, nappies and
sanitary items to the maternity
units in the local hospital (Royal
Gwent Hospital) at the beginning
of the Covid-19 pandemic
outbreak.
