Barefoot Opera The Report of the Trustees for the year ended 31 st March 2025 Barefoot Young Artists Tour 2025: We started community workshops for the tour in May and continued until the end of September. Our ACE supported tour expanded to 12 performances in 6 venues of Verdi's La Traviata. We reached a total of 1760 live audience. We engaged with six non auditioned community choirs of which three were new to us. Those choirs totalled 108 singers, of whom 59 were new to opera, c. 50%. We engaged with four schools, of whlch three schools were new to our company. The school groups totalled 76 performers, of which 68 were new to opera, over 90%. We garnered the most reviews we have ever had as a company, including reviews in Hastings and St Leonards, Brighton and the Arcola, totalling 6 reviews of which 5 were th highly favourable. On December 7 2024 we supported the Seaview Centre for vulnerable adults in their annual Christmas Carol fundraising concert. We held our usual th Burns Night fundraiser on January 25 and raised £1300 for the company. We held regular advanced slngers, workshops in our London studio. From January 2025 to April 2025 we toured Red! a children's opera written by Lucy Mulgan and commissioned by us, to 10 primary schools and 300 children. This was also ACE supported. We then performed Redl at the Royal Opera House in April 2025 for their children's outreach programme, with 100 children performing. We appointed an interim Artistic Director for 6 months from October 2024.

Independent Examiner's Report to the Commlttee of Barefoot Opera I report on the accounts of Barefoot Opera for the twelve month period ended 31 March 2025 which are set out on the previous pages. Respective rgsponsibilities of cornmittee & examiner The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of Ihe accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act). and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility.. to examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145{5)(b) of the Charities Act), and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention Basis of indepandont examiner's report My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charlty Commisslon. An examination Includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and comparison of the supporting documentation presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters.
