Summary ofthe main During the 2021 /2022 financial
year Manland
School and its pupils
achievements ofthe charity continued
to deal with the effects ofthe Covid 19pandemic
and as
during the year such the projects supported
by the charity
during
this period
all
helped
the school to protect
and support
its pupils
during
these
difficult times. Projects supported
by the charity included:
Additional
cleanin
costs
During
the summer
term,
FOM made a donation
to enable
Manland
to
continue
to fund
additional
cleaning
requirements.
The trustees
were
keen
to ensure
that
the
cleanliness
and
hygiene
of the school
was
prioritised
in the absence of additional
Government
funding
for this.
Educational
subscri
tions
The
charity
funded
a package
of online
educational
subscriptions
to
facilitate
both
in class and horne learning.
Su
ort for a Learnin
Mentor
The Learning
Mentor provides
additional
support
to children
experiencing
difficulty,
whether
through
bereavement,
anxiety or other
life challenges.
The charity cannot fund core teaching
staff but the trustees
decided
that
by supporting
this
position
they
could
support
all the
children
at
the
school, as the Learning
Mentor can be called
upon to provide
additional
classroom
and other support
when
required
to ensure
that teachers
can
focus on teaching
all students
without
their teaching
time being reduced
by the need to deal with other issues.
The trustees
having
carefully considered
the funding
ofthese projects
considered
that these are not items of expenditure
which could have
been funded
from core school funds as the cost ofthese items could not
be financed
by the funding
received
by the school from the Local
Education
Authority
or the Department
for Education.
