The relief of financial hardship amongst people in Stretford and Urmston and the surrounding area or in other parts of the United Kingdom in such ways as the trustees from time to time think fit, in particular, but not exclusively by:

(a) providing emergency food essential toiletries and household items to individuals and families in need and/or for distribution by charities or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty.

(b) such other means, including (but not limited to) the provision of support or signposting to relevant information and other advisory services.

Achievements: (A short history). The foodbank opened its doors in Oct 2013, in collaboration with local churches and the community and registered with the Charity Commission on 2[nd] June 2016

What have we done in 2021:

We are very grateful to all those individuals and organisations that have donated food and client good over this reporting period.

Food donated 39152.18Kg Client food/goods bought in 902kg Vouchers fulfilled 1299 People helped* 2834 (1803 adults, 1031 children)

The main causes of crises are Low I ncome, Other, Benefit Delays, Debt and I llness. These five causes make up 88% of the total.

In December we gave out 111 “Christmas bags” which was a 38% on December 2020.

For the period of reporting, we had 30 volunteers.

Quality Assurance Inspections

The foodbank registered with the Trussell Trust in 2013 and we have regular Quality Assurance Inspections. Unfortunately, due to Covid, this has not happened this year.

We are very grateful to all the individuals, churches and organisations (too many to mention) that have supported us this year either financially or by giving in-kind.

You will note from the end of year accounts that we have a considerably higher income than in any previous year. The balance remains high because of increased giving and grants received towards the cost of relocating due to the pandemic. We also have rent and utilities on the new premises to still to pay. Considering all this, we are still in a very good position, and we are looking forward to being able to offer more personalised services in the coming years.

accounts as carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 (“the 2011
Act”). In carrying out my examination, I have followed the Directions given by the
Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act.
