## **D) Achievement & Performance**

**Achievements:** (A short history). The foodbank opened its doors in Oct 2013, in collaboration with local churches and the community and registered with the Charity Commission on 2[nd] June 2016

What have we done in 2021:

- We have continued to develop a relationship with one school to help support their most vulnerable families during school holidays. We propose to use this model to include more schools in 2022.

- We have successfully obtained several grants from different bodies in both the public and the private sector that will cover our costs. This means we are now financially secure for the medium term.

- In the Autumn we appointed two part time staff to roles of Warehouse Manager and Project Manager benefitting from the Together for Change Grant from The Trussell Trust.

- We were part of a small group of charities and Trafford Council who provided food to vulnerable families during the school summer holidays.

- PR: Filming took place using our warehouse frontage and starring Louise by the BBC for a CBeebies programme.

- We were chosen by The Mayor of Trafford to be one of 3 charities to benefit from a Lottery launched in 2021.

- We have partnered with a local “Friends of Group” to provide an out of hours emergency food pick up point.

- Together with our new Area Manager, whom we met virtually in March and in person in June we developed our Time for Change document.

- In the summer we introduced some fresh products to our food parcels.

- We started to meet face to face again for our Management and Trustee meetings in the Autumn.

- Four of our Trustees (Paul Guest, Steve Lavery, Christine Taylor and Rev. Luke Maguire) resigned at the end of the 2021 and we have five new people ready to appoint in 2022.

**Performance:** End of year statistics for the period 1st Jan 2021- 31st Dec 2021

We are very grateful to all those individuals and organisations that have donated food and client good over this reporting period.

The main causes of crises are Low I ncome, Other, Benefit Delays, Debt and I llness. These five causes make up 88% of the total.

In December we gave out 111 “Christmas bags” which was a 38% on December 2020.

For the period of reporting, we had 30 volunteers.

* Some people will attend more than once

Quality Assurance Inspections

The foodbank registered with the Trussell Trust in 2013 and we have regular Quality Assurance Inspections. Unfortunately, due to Covid, this has not happened this year.

## **E) Financial Review**

The Charity is currently looking at a policy on reserves Details of any funds materially in deficit: None

The charity’s principal sources of funding this year have been:

- Cheques £32,205.12

- Cash £3,235.97

- Standing Orders £15,761.86

- Gift Aid £0

- Grants to the sum of £18,000

We have had tremendous support from many small and large organisations that have donated food or goods. Our thanks go to them all. However, we want to thank those corporates that have supported us throughout the year, these include:

- Asda Trafford Park for corporate donations.

- Trafford Housing Trust for greatly reduced commercial rents for our warehouses.

- Asda, Sainsbury’s, One Stop, The Halifax (Stretford Mall); these are partners that support us throughout the year with Permanent Collection Points.

## **Finance Statement**

We are very grateful to all the individuals, churches and organisations (too many to mention) that have supported us this year either financially or by giving in-kind.

You will note from the end of year accounts that we have a considerably higher income than in any previous year. The balance remains high because of increased giving and grants received towards the cost of relocating due to the pandemic. We also have rent and utilities on the new premises to still to pay. Considering all this, we are still in a very good position, and we are looking forward to being able to offer more personalised services in the coming years.

We are very grateful to Mr Alan Ramsey for examining the accounts.

## **F) Declaration:**

The trustees declare that they approved the trustees’ report above.
