l. Introduction: The alms of The Layberry Foundation remain the same - to help meet the needs of vulnerable young people who. in the maln. have leftor are about to leave Local Authority care, and who are ladtlng In the prartkal and lrfe skills they need to galn employment and sur¥ive in society. Although The iaybefry Foundation {based on a 52-acre fam) and forestry site In Northwest Kent) has only been able to wovlde limited opportunlties for young people to work In thi5 en¥ironment. It has been able to tontlnue to expand its acti¥lties into the community, by working alongside Sevenoaks Dlstrict Councll In a project almed * young people who have beefi Imparted by COVID. This has Involved the recruitinenL traini￿ and appointment of a number of Mentors who have been matrhed to young people in the loral community. The Liyberry Foundation supervises and monltQfS thelr artivities and works With the Local ￿tty when additional needs are Identlfied. There are stlll plannirw conslderati¢)ns to be overcome at the fami In order for the site to reach its potential, so over the past year our partnership with Sevenoaks District Council Voluntary Sertor has taken precedence and has been operating succes5fv1fy. A small amount ot funding has again been made available from the Cwnal to facilitate thi5 work. The prolert also received the IESE Certificate of Excellence Winner 2023 to mark sl8nificant innovations in transfomiing local public servlces. This was larEely due to the very thands on, approach of our Projert CTrordlnatorwhose soclal WOTkexpertise was a great assetto the Sevenoaks District Council and the young people referred to the projert. Our Volunteers have continued to work with a small number of young people in the District, ahhough the Sevenoaks Distrirt Council project has now come to an end. This work wlll continue uDtII the young people themselves feel they no longer need the support. The important links that have been developed locally as a result of our Imiolvement wlth Sevenoaks Distrlct Council's Voluntsry Fovum have giwen us acce5S to l¢xal organlsations whith can enhance OUT work wlth young people.
