Objectives and Actlvltles The PCC is committed to enabling as many people as possible to worship at our two thurthes, the parish church of St Anne ( St Anne) and Sl James Mission Church {Sl James) and to become part of our parish communty. The PCC maintsins an oveThiew of worship throughout the parish and tries to tsik)r the church services to meet the various styles ￿ churchmanship in the community. Our services and worship put faith into Fractice through pray8r and scripture rnusic and sacrament. When planning actiwties we try to enable people to live out their faith as part of our parish community through: Worship and prayer Provision of pastoral care for parishioners Missionary and outreach work To facilitate this wwk it is imp(Ktant that we rnaintaln the fabric of our thurth buildings. Achlevements and Perfomi•nce Key examples are: Flnanc8 2023 saw the parish facing a sTrgnfficant financial deficat and struggling to meet its obligations of maint6nanc and parish share. The Diocesan Board of Finance séts the 18vels of parish share for each parish to help cover the costs of the dergy in the diocesev their stipends, housing Dxts. insurance and pension ¢(￿trIbutIonS and as a parish we very much Want￿ to be able to fully pay our share. It was espectally pleasing to see the attendance of the unrfomied organisalions at the Remembrance SeThiLZ and the range of ages all detemiined to pay their rèspects to those gave their lives for the benefit of subsequent g8n8rations The Tuesday Family Friendly Service at St James is tsik)red to families with primary school age chiklren and younger and continues to grow in numbers thanks to the dedication of Revd Marws and Karen Bulwck and suppjrt from Jo Haslam. Deanery Synod At present we have two elected deanery Syn￿ membets. (￿r parish elecxcfal roll figures have declined and with completion of the new 2025 electoral roll ncw stand at 95. We hope to fill the Current vacancy at the 2025 Annual Parochial Church Me8ting. Deanery Synod pmvides th8 PCC wtth an imFrfxtsnt link b8iw8en the parish and the wder structures and slrat8gies of th8 Church. Communlty and So¢lal Use of Our Church Bulldlngs At Sl Anne the Broadhead Room is the weekiy meeting for the Mother and Toddler grwp and the morrthty meeting place for the Mothers Union. The building at St James is used V•idely by a range of communty gn)ups e.g. Brownies. dan and frtness groups and ad hoc hirings for birthday parties, craft fairs and other celebrations and events. In 2024 very enjoyable and well attended so(aal fundraising events were: pasty and peas supw evening hekj in the parish hall at St James in April wtth fascinating and insightful presentstions the June 1996 Manth8St8r City Centre Bombing from a senior Folice officer, an architec* and a ￿lest all of whom had been perS(￿allY invofved folloving the shocking events of that day a Christmas o)ncert held at St Anne in December with powlar opera and seasonal music performed by opera singer Nicola Mills. Electronic wcffking has greatty 8SSlSted in the preparation of th8 accounts but ther8 ar8 too many small accounts and the independent examiner advised that the PCC shoukl close most of these and consolidate.
