Whatever Your Weather – during the R&D for our immersive music and mindfulness experience we engaged with 300 students from Saffron Walden County High School to help introduce them to new musical approaches and develop their awareness of the benefits of engaging with mindfulness practices. This project also saw the completion of a new composition commission by trombonist/educator Raphael Clarkson and our musicians engaged in a series of professional developmental activities surrounding mindfulness practice and education. This project culminated in a premiere at the 2023 Spitalfields Music Festival – one of the UK’s leading contemporary music festivals. Other partners included Saffron Hall, and Mindful Music London. Joy Ellis – As a pianist and songwriter with trio albums to her name, Joy Ellis approached us to help her learn how to write and work with a large ensemble. This year we have helped her to successfully receive funding for the R&D stage of her project, which will take part in 2024, with a combination of one-to-one lessons and orchestral ensemble sessions. |
