1. Support and Services

a. Camps and Actvity Days

Our annual activity camp was held at JCA in Shrewsbury. It continues to be an integral part of our offering and becomes increasingly well attended each year.

In response to continued demand for accessible, virtual activities, we have maintained our popular Zoom sessions:

c. Counselling and Emotonal Support

We continued to offer mental health support through our partnership with Rare Minds. This service has been crucial in helping individuals and families cope with the emotional and psychological challenges of NF1.

d .

Online Support Group

Our online support group for parents and carers of children with NF1 offers essential emotional support, practical advice, and a sense of community. It connects families facing similar challenges, providing a space to share experiences, access resources, and solve problems together. The convenience of an online platform ensures accessibility for those in remote areas or with busy schedules. By reducing isolation and stress, offering peer learning, and empowering parents to advocate for their child’s needs, the group plays a vital role in improving both mental well-being and the overall quality of care for children with NF1.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT ON THE ACCOUNTS

I have Independently Examined the Receipts and Payments Account and Statement of Assets and Liabilities on Pages 7 to 10, for financial year ending 31[st ] March 2024.

Respective responsibilities of Members and Examiner

As members, you are responsible for the preparations of the Accounts; you have to consider that an audit does not apply. It is my responsibility to state, on the basis of procedures, whether particular matters have come to my attention.

Basis of Independent Examiner’s Report

My examination was carried out in accordance with general accounting practice. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the organisation and an examination of the accounts presented with these records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from you the Members concerning such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently we do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the Accounts.

Independent Examiner’s Statement

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

have not been met: or
