Additional informatlon {optlonal) You ma choose to include further statements where relevant about: SORP r￿erence Policy on grant making 1.38 Our current grant making policy relates solely to St George's Memorial Church in Ypres. We have granted to the church all bells and fittings and associated equipment and installations that are fixed in situ in the church. This granl largely took place on completion of the installation in 2017, although residual work continued into 2018. Items of a moveable nature thal are placed in the church for use by ringers, church members and visitors will generally remain in Ihe ownership of the charity and this will be clearly indicated. Ex¢eptions to this policy to be approved case by case by Ihe Trustees. No grants were made in 2024. Volunteers.. Bellringing is generally a voluntary activity. We advise, and where possible support. the Sl George's Memorial Church in its aclivities to attract and train volunteers to become bell ringers at the church in order to fomi and nurture a local band of ringers as part of the church community. Achievements and Perfomiance SORP ￿ference Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity's work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. Completion of Ypres project with the bells nd being dedicated on 22 October 2017 and significant progress with the training and development ofa local band and working with the Church and local community in the context of our objectives. In 2022 this included discussions lo address local concerns about the effectiveness of the overall soundproofing of the tower when the shutters are closed for general ringing (which includes practice sessions and visiting bands). This was addressed in 2023 as noted above. Para 1.20 In addition, a stunning and beautrful Memorial window for Rifleman Bertram Prewett has been completed by its maker. Policies and procedures adopted for the induction and training of trustees Para 1.51 We work closely with the Chaplain and Church Council of St George's Church, Ypres in s6veral ways. The use of th8 bells for their Charitable purpose depends on having visiting ringers and a local band of ringers. We have agréement with the Council relating to ongoing access to, and use of, the bells at all reasonable times logelher with facililating the training of new ringers and fostering its success (involving promotion in church publications, notices, the church website and in relevanl meetings). We also have agreement in relation to the showing of recorded audiolvideo content in the church and some practical aspects of this. The main part of this is structured educational material on the history of bells and change ringing and the practical aspects of how bells are rung. Multiple languages can be involved. The required arrangefflents for tower trips for visitors have also been discussed and agreed in principle, although Insuran￿ and health and safety considerations apply. The Council remains enthusiastic about the bèlls and we are satisfied with the undertakings given by them.
