Section C Objectives and activities To advance education.. to advan in life, help and relieve the needs of children and young people, and to prevent and relieve children and young people in poverty in particular but not exclusively by providing funds and by supporting projects for children aged 6 - 13 and young people aged 14 - 25 living in Nsanje and Chikwawa districts in Southern Malawi and Kingtom, BawBaw. and Waterloo Communities in Freetown Sierra Leone. Summary of Ihe objects of the charity set out in its governing document Summary of the main activities undertaken for thè public benefit in relation to those objècts (include within thls 3ectlon the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guldance issued by the Charity Commis81on on publlc benefit) During the period 12 August 2023 to 11 August 2024, we have raised funds for the charity through regular payments £3511, one off receipts of £822 and through groups of people, Sutton Methodist Church £400. We were also awarded a grant of £2000 from The Methodist Central Hall London for investigating the drilling of bore holes for water This amounted to a total of £6733. We sent £2843 for school fees for the children in Malawi, £50 to renew their NGO license, £440 for shipping items and £1000 for the well project. In Sierra Leone children and young people have benefitted as SACTS paid School fees £1500, £250 was sent for relief and £50 was sent towards their NGO license. Bank charges were £37 and £44 was used for administration, he website. It is deeply satisfying to note that many of the children who joined ur sponsorship programmes in Sierra Leone and Malawi are now earing the end of their secondary education. Witnessing how heir lives have been transformed by the generosity and kindness f donors is truly inspiring. These acts of support have opened oors to brighter fUtUs. demonstrating the tangible power of ollective goodwill. e educational system in Malawi has largety returned to nonnal, ut we remain vigilant in monitoring the ongoing impact of climate hange on education across the country especially in the southern egion. Over the past year. climate-related disruptions have posed ignificant challenges. with severe weather events affecting chools and Communities. Our volunt&rs on the ground continue o report these risks. and while there is little we can do to directly nflUen these natural occurrences, V hope the government and chool authorities have robust plans in place to safeguard children nd pupils during such adverse conditions. Section D Achievements and performance The charity raised over £4733 during the period through regular donations and events including speaking engagements. We were able to support our volunteers in Sierra Leone and Malawi to register their community- based organisations through which we are coordinating the work in both Sierra Leone and Malawi. We also were awarded a grant of £2000 to develop boreholes for fresh water in Malawi and Bawbaw.
