Para 1.17 | Help for Horses UK was created to • Promote humane behaviour towards horses by providing appropriate care, protection, treatment and security of those that are in need of care and attention. This includes maltreatment, ill health, poor circumstances, and responding to the growing crisis of abandoned horses. • Providing horse welfare guidance, education and support to public bodies, horse owners, and the general public, to prevent cruelty and suffering of horses. • Having in mind our strong commitment to public benefit, we work with local authority partners, the police, other public agencies, and local communities, to highlight and respond to the escalating crisis of abandoned horses, alive and dead, which cause considerable distress to the general public, and increase pressure on local authorities and the police. |

The welfare officers have continued to revisit our foster families and are pleased to report all is going well We continued to undertake the BHS progressive tests which covers both riding and stable management and have also worked with a riding school to provide lectures on horse welfare for theirpony |
| stars programme We repeated our attendance at an equestrian centre as part of their summer camps and gave lectures on horse welfare including health and welfare of the pony, bandaging and how to treat minor injuries and stable management, field management and poisonous plants One of our rescue ponies ‘Bubble’ is with a riding school and is now in full work, hacking out and jumping a course of little jumps. He has also taken part in pony summer camp and we hear is well liked by the riders. |

Para 1.38 | For the coming year we aim to continue and promote our work and the Charity. Our theme for this year is to continue to promote the charity through social media providing information and blogs. We are also looking to provide free educational events open to all horse owners concentrating on different areas of horse welfare. The first planned event is a presentation by one of our local farriers, with the opportunity for people to ask questions. |

To provide advice and practical support where necessary. These objectives were primarily achieved by the holiday camps held in the Summer available to any interested person. These included lectures on horse welfare such as information on the farrier, minor ailments, health and welfare of the pony, bandaging and how to treat minor injuries and stable management, all of which proved very popular with young and old. Also via our progressive British Horse Society tests undertaken at our local riding society. Information is then put on our website and facebook so that any one can access this at any time. |
