Peckham Silver Band – Chairman’s Report for the year to February 2021

With restrictions in place for most of the year, we had no formal engagements last year but we did manage to have practices on the lawn in East Peckham through the summer and then for a brief month in October we had socially distanced practices inside – and we were then locked down again. Our one attempt at playing after that was some carols in a square in East Peckham.

However, the spirit of the band has been maintained by regular zoom meetings where the chat has been fun, although we should perhaps gloss over the quality of the ensemble playing when we have attempted to play on zoom together – but it was fun!

The financial report below has more detail of the accounts – the loss for the year has been contained since we have few fixed expenses so our financial position remains healthy.

I am thoroughly looking forward to a resumption of normality and even some summer engagements!

Alec Pelmore

Treasurers Report

The income and outgoings reflect the pandemic lockdown with limited income other than some subs but also limited outgoings and the deficit for the year was only £600.
