Activities

Following the decision of Birmingham Diocese in 2010 to close St Catherines Church some residents proposed that they manage and maintain the building to avoid the loss of a vital village amenity built in 1879 as the local school. They became the hall's first Trustees which is now widely used for community meetings and events, various classes, groups, parties and as the local polling station.

Objects: The Provision And Maintenance Of A Village Hall For The Use Of The Inhabitants Of Catherine De Barnes And Surrounding Communities Without Distinction Of Political, Religious Or Other Opinions, Including Use For:(a) Meetings, Lectures And Classes, And(b) Other Forms Of Recreation And Leisure-Time Occupation, With The Object Of Improving The Conditions Of Life For The Inhabitants.in Addition, The Catherine De Barnes Village Hall May Further Add Such Other Purposes Which May Be Charitable According To The Law Of England And Wales. The Trustees Will Do This From Time To Time By Assessing The Local Needs And Seeking Advice From Acre And The Charity Commission.
