The Trustees have pleasure in presenting their Report and Accounts for the year ended 31 July 2021

ACTIVITIES

The Trust funds the research and study of religious and spiritual experience, and encourages the dissemination of information through lectures, newsletters and books.

FINANCIAL REVIEW

During the year, a total deficit of £2,025 arose. The notes to the accounts include additional information on financial performance.

The Trust is able to meet all its financial obligations.

NOTES TO ACCOUNTS

  1. The only creditor is the annual accountancy fee.

  2. The provision of accommodation and some associated overheads by the UWTSD has not been charged and represents a significant saving on the cost that otherwise would have been incurred by the organisation.

  3. A donation of £11,451 was received in respect of the closing payment of a legacy. No other donations in excess of £1,000 were received during the year.

  4. A donation of £11,400 was made to the UWTSD, in support of the RERC library staff.

  5. A donation of £150 was made to Heather Tisdale, the widow of Tom Pitchford.

The balance of £7,334 relates to the sponsorship of PHD at Warwick University being the fees, plus £4,000 maintenance, plus expenses.

NOTES TO ACCOUNTS

  1. The following professional fees were paid:

  2. i) £650 to Rankin

Associates ii) £818 to Margaret West.

The payment to Rankin Associates covers administration, contact with membership (in conjunction with membership secretary), events and other queries about the AHT, dealing with any printing (e.g. AGM papers), working within the AHT - arranging events and liaising between the people involved, drawing up and getting publicity material printed and disseminated, postage costs, publicising the AHT and its events by email and through attendance at conferences, speaking about the work of the AHT for like-minded organisations.

  1. During the year, investment income of £8,969 was received from Walker Crips.

A sum of £10,000 was also transferred from the investment into the general account during the year.

The portfolio was valued at £349,219 at the year end which represented an increase of £56,024 for the year.

  1. The debtors figure relates to gift aid.

  2. The trustees meeting costs are as follows: i) £318 to Rankin

  3. Associates for the AGM ii) £42 to Packwood Printers for the AGM iii) £184 cancellation charge for the AGM hotel

This is reduced by the following payments which have not cleared the bank: i) £34 to Tom Farley ii) £133 to Tanya Garland

  1. Any postage costs are included in staff & volunteers expenses.
