LAFI Burkina is a UK charity that works to strengthen, promote and protect the rights of people with disabilities in Burkina Faso to live in a fully inclusive society.
Objects: 1) To Promote Human Rights (As Set Out In The Universal Declaration Of Human Rights Andsubsequent United Nations Conventions And Declarations, In Particular The United Nationsconvention On The Rights Of Persons With Disabilities) Throughout Burkina Faso By Thefollowing Means:- Relieving Need Among The Victims Of Human Rights Abuse;- Educating The Public About Human Rights;- Raising Awareness Of Human Rights Issues;- Promoting Public Support For Human Rights;- Promoting Respect For Human Rights Among Individuals And Corporations;- International Advocacy Of Human Rights.in Furtherance Of That Object But Not Otherwise, The Trustees Shall Have Power To Engage Inpolitical Activity Provided That The Trustees Are Satisfied That The Proposed Activitieswill Further The Purposes Of The Charity To An Extent Justified By The Resources Committedand The Activity Is Not The Dominant Means By Which The Charity Carries Out Its Objects.2) The Prevention Or Relief Of Poverty Among People With Disabilities And Their Families Inburkina Faso By Providing: Grants, Items And Services To Individuals In Need And/or Charities,or Other Organisations Working To Prevent Or Relieve Poverty.3) The Promotion Of Social Inclusion Among People With Disabilities And Their Families Inburkina Faso Who Are Socially Excluded From Society, Or Parts Of Society, As A Result Of Beingdisabled By: - Providing Education And Information To Support And Enable Parents Of Children Withdisabilities To Maximise Educational Opportunities For Their Children; - Raising Public Awareness Of The Issues Affecting People With Disabilities, Both Generallyand In Relation To Their Social Exclusion; - Providing Workshops, Forums, Advocacy And General Support; - Providing Recreational Facilities And Opportunities For People With Disabilities.
