Section C Objectives and activities The object of the Sileby Community Library CIO ISCL CIO) is: To promote, for the benefit of the residents of Sileby and surrounding area, the provision of a public library for recreation andlor other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities, by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large, in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the condition of life and said residents. SCL CIO has continued to work hard throughout the year April 2023 to March 2024 to ensure the library remains relevant in our community for all residents and provide opportunities for volunteering. Although the library's trustees have undergone change, the management ommitlee has worked to ensure the library operates smoothly and its objects are achieved. Community links with the Public Health Community Team. Charnwood GP Network, the Police have been maintained and new links have been established with the Mental Health Team, Borough councillors and other local community groups. This has enabled community activities to be arranged at the library. Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit) An Events programme throughout the year has been curated with activities aimed at all sections of the community. Volunteer recruitment has increased and the library continues to provide volunteering opportunities for the local Gommunity-based college for people with leaming disabilities. During the period. the Trustees continued to consider the Charity Cornmission's guidance on public benefit when undertaking the charity's work.
