During the year April 2023 to March 2024, the Trustees and management
committee of Sileby Community Library have undergone change with a
new Chair and Treasurer. The management committee has ensured the
work of the library has continued smoothly during the transition. The focus
will continue on further recruitment of new trustees to ensure sUc￿Ssion
of leadership. encourage the input of new ideas, skills and energy.

Development of the work with the local GP network and social prescribing
team has strengthened during the year. The weekly group for those in the
community who have felt isolated, lonely and lack confidence to engage in
social interaction continues lo be well attended. Further links with the
mental health team and local groups have been made.

Objectives and activities
The object of the Sileby Community Library CIO ISCL CIO) is:
To promote, for the benefit of the residents of Sileby and surrounding
area, the provision of a public library for recreation andlor other leisure
time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities, by reason
of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social
and economic circumstances or for the public at large, in the interests of
social welfare and with the object of improving the condition of life and
said residents.

SCL CIO has continued to work hard throughout the year April 2023 to
March 2024 to ensure the library remains relevant in our community for
all residents and provide opportunities for volunteering.
Although the library's trustees have undergone change, the management
ommitlee has worked to ensure the library operates smoothly and its
objects are achieved.
Community links with the Public Health Community Team. Charnwood
GP Network, the Police have been maintained and new links have been
established with the Mental Health Team, Borough councillors and other
local community groups. This has enabled community activities to be
arranged at the library.

An Events programme throughout the year has been curated with
activities aimed at all sections of the community.
Volunteer recruitment has increased and the library continues to provide
volunteering opportunities for the local Gommunity-based college for
people with leaming disabilities.
During the period. the Trustees continued to consider the Charity
Cornmission's guidance on public benefit when undertaking the charity's
work.

1. Maintained the number of Trustees for the library.
2. Inter8St in joining the volunteering team increased.
3. Provision of a full programme of activities throughout the year to
encourage visitors to visit the library.

activities, library hire, fundraising events and donations. This is broken
down as follows..

S106 funding of £3288 was re￿ived, which was spent on important
improvements to the interior of the library. The bulk of these restricted
funds were used to divide shelving, allowing them to be moved easily and
therefore giving the opportunity for the library space to be used more
flexibly and rented more regularty.
