The focus of all our activities is to promote learning through play. supporting the individual child through their unique learning journey, in partnership with parenlslcarers with the use of individual planning, observations and an appropriate mix of adult and child initiated activities, to enable the child to become independent and to support transitions into school. All children and their families are treated on an individual basis, regardless of ra￿, gender and personal circumstances and the diversity within our setting represents the local Gommunity and enriches the learning environment for both children and adults. Section D Achievements and performance Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year COVID 19 Pandemic forced the closure of the Preschool on Monday 23 March 2020. rd Preschool reopened on Monday 15 June 2020 with the retum of a small group of children. During closure, no staff were furloughed. Manager and Administrator worked continuously through the closure and keep parentslcarers up to date with the ever changing information. All staff returned prior lo reopening to carry out a deep clean and work through procedures to keep staff and children safe. Unfortunately, there were many Gancellations during the national lockdown and these included Tempest photography who were due to attend on 6 May. The annual sponsored walk scheduled for 17 June 2020, the annual Easter egg hunt and a maths quiz for children and parents to be during the Easter break also had to be cancelled. The usual Iransitions for those children starting main school. which included joining Assemblies, Teddy Bears Picnic, lunch trials and regular playground visits were also can￿lled. The setting was due to welcome a student for work experience from Boltisham Village College starting and 2 students from Newmarket Academy. which was also cancelled. nd We returned on 2 September 2020 for the Autumn Term. Our Christmas Party was held on Wednesday 9 December 2020, with party games, party food, balloons and a virtual visit from Father Christmas, which proved successful. We provided a small gift of a book and preschool t-shirt to each child. Our First Aid training which was due to start in January 2021 was postponed and was successfully completed in March 2021. Our Easter Egg Hunt took place on Wednesday 24 March 2021, with donations of chocolate eggs from Waitrose, Tesco and parents. Karen and Wendy were able to complete their Safeguarding training online during the Easter Break in March 2021. We have our own website ￿l.a]ISalntsUnderflves.Co.Uk. We were su¢Gessful in applying for a COVID 19 Grant to support the Preschool during difficult times, we re￿iVed £10,000 on 29 May 2020, £9.672.74 on 16" December 2020 and £1,735.00 on 16" February 2021. NOTE.. On 3rf June 2021 an EGM was held where Jane Fleet stepped down as Chairperson and Melanie Pettitt was voted in as a Chairperson on an interim basis. This is due to Caroline McKay stepping down as Manager on 31 August 2021 and Jane Fleet going through Safer Recruitment to be employed as Manager from I September 2021. TAR April 2014
