To promote and advance, for the benefit of the public, agriculture, horticulture, livestock breeding and arts and crafts which are of educational, historical and cultural benefit to the community and in furtherance of this purpose the society may hold an annual show.

The charity stages an agricultural show which has been running for over 130 years. The benefits of this are that members of the public who are farmers and breeders are encouraged to produce the very best examples of their particular speciality that they can, thereby preserving and improving animal husbandry and subsequently food quality. The competitive exhibition of such specimens educate, entertain and inform members of the public who may not otherwise come into contact with traditional or modern farming techniques.
