Activities
The Friends of Childs Hill Park exists to conserve and protect the environment of the park, to educate park users about local plants and wildlife and develop space for play and recreation. Our volunteer group meets regularly to maintain and plant our flower beds; we raise grants to improve the diversity of planting, install interpretation boards and a tree trail for educational purposes.
Objects: (1) For The Benefit Of The Inhabitants Of Barnet And The Surrounding Are ("The Area Of Benefit"), To Provide Or Assist In The Provision Of Facilities In The Interests Of Social Welfare For Recreation Or Other Leisure Time Occupation Of Individuals Who Have Need Of Such Facilities By Reason Of Their Youth, Age Infirmity Or Disability, Financial Hardship Or Social Circumstances With The Object Of Improving Their Conditions Of Life.(2) The Promotion Of Conservation And Protection Of The Physical And Natural Environment Of Childs Hill Park In Particular But Not Exclusively By Creating Areas Of The Park Rich In Species Diversity.(3) The Advancement Of Education For The Public Benefit In Particular But Not Exclusively By Erecting Interpretation Boards To Inform The Public About The Local Flora And Fauna, Commissioning Wildlife Groups To Deliver Educational Sessions In The Park For Adults And Children And Facilitating Horticultural Training.
