Our aim is to envision and influence the ￿ltUre of the C￿rch in relation to being and doing church in the context of the 5th￿1 and ￿S wrder cornmunty. also aim to explore this in our one-tcFone conversations throughout the year Imth thurch volunteers and leaders that we work with. le have been able (with others e.g. Bristol Chaplaincy and Bristol DI0￿Se) to encourage the concept of school chaplaincy (fomial or info￿al. volunteer or paid) across our netsvork. A couple of the people we work with have embraced this concept and embodied it more in the Itfe of the schcol(s) they are working with. We have been * to support rthvly wnFAoyed chaplains in the work that tsy are dotng in Sd￿1$ and ttpir wnmunity. We have b￿rked in partnership with a ra)ge of denom1natio￿- including C of E, Baptis( Free Evangelical, Methodist Catholic. and the Mullers Netwoth of Churches. We are thrilled to have both Simon and Jon c board which will enable to expaid our aclivrties in the comiro year. Section E Financial review Financial pofft+rniance Following a deficit last year. BSC started 2024r25 with projected expenditure exceeding pledged in¢ome by £5.01￿. We are very grateful to the new irKlividual dcrnrs and churches along with ongoing dc￿orS, have provided £4,000 of income over our In￿81 projection. This income was boosted by the receipt of a secorKI £4,000 annual grant from Christ Church CIFfton. In addrtion, BSC r￿1Ved £3,600 to re￿ftburse the cost of ￿￿rk ￿mIertaken at Trinty Theological College. Total expenditure was redU￿d by 6% to £32,200 without the develownent expenses Jesus of the Box arising trom its launch last year. Overall there was a sutplus of £8200 (2023124 deficit- £4,300). We have already received a gmt of £10.f￿ from the Burden Trust which means the trustees aiticipate being ￿le to break even in 2025r26 Pfior to any areas of experKltiure. In order to ftmd further expansion in BSC'S activiiies, we hope to Continue to increase the number of churches which support BSC financially and that individual SUF¥)Orters will increase their giving in line with inflation. We remain aware of the fflan constraints ¢)n famil bud ets at this time. BSC remains reliant each year on fin￿cial gifts from individua]s. trusts and churches within Bristol aTrJ beyond which can be on￿Off. ongoing or for a limited period. Given this dependerKy, the ￿SteeS believe it appropriate to target reserves at approximalely six months of annual expendiiure plus any b￿geted deficit for the next year. The reserves at 31. August 2025 Yme £27.0￿ (2024 £19,OW). The projected ewdFbJre for 2025126 is £36,000 giving a reserves tsrget of £18,000 given the break even budget (2024 targ8t £21,OCM)). Reserves therefore represented 150% (2024 9J%) of target. The Irustees consider this level of reserves reasonable.
