Governance and Manag•ment The charity was estsblished by a goveming document {ConsbtutK)n) adopted on 23 February 2014. It was formed in order to acqui￿ the assets and liabilities of St Columba's United Refomied Church. Oxford. an ex¢epted chanty. Addib"onal trustees may be app)inted by the church meeting: all new trustees are offered appropriate training in order to fulfil their ro￿. ObJectiv•s and activities The obJe¢t of the chanty is the advancement of the Christian fr4ith for the tEnefft of the public. in accordance with the Scheme of Union ol the United Refomied Church. It carries out this purFrf)se by providing a place where all are welcome to participate in regukr public worship. Flnancial Revlew All the assets aThJ liabilths of St Columba'5 Unrted Reformed Church. Oxford were transferred to the charjty on 28 February 2016. Income for the year included legac￿5 of £10.500. and totalled £162.49012022 £136.4631,' expenditure totalled £161,87612022 £136,372), and induded the installatron of a new audio visual system al a cost of £16,381. The resulting surplus of £61412022 surplus of £91} ha5 tten added to reserves, resuth'ng in funds carried forward of £132,224, of which £5,949 were restricted fvnds Voluntary income, mostly from church members, held up well. and income from hirings for the year increased to £56,215 {2022 £44,863). The only abnomial rtem of expendi￿re was the AV system referred to above. The Trustees are satisfied that the unrestricted fund balance of £124,9)8. representing almost 12 months of nonnal expenditure, is more than adequate lo underpin future aclNities, and accordingty that the charity remains a going coneem for at least 12 months fr(n the date of s￿nIng this ￿pOrt. Plans for Future Perfod8 The emphasis of the charity will continue to be on keeping its worshipper5 together, by means of worship and other resources delivered online andlor in the church building5, and to develop fvrther its outreach focussed on the wider community, in fvrtherance of its core obiecbves. SLitement of Tru8tees' Responslbllities The Trustees are resF(￿s1b1e for preparing the Rewrt of the Trustees and financkal statements in accordance with applicable law and regUlat￿n$. Charity law requires the Trustees to wepare financial ststements for each financHI year. Under that law the Trustees have elected to p￿pare the financial statements in accordan￿ wth Unrted Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (United Kingdom Accounting Standards and applicable law). Under charity law the Trustees must not approve the firtancpl statements unless they are s"sr￿d that they give a true and fair view of the stste of affairs of the chanty and of the incoming resources and applicabon of resources of the charity for that period. In preparing those financial slatements, the Trustees are required lo select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistentjy.. make judgements and esb"rnates that are reasonable and prudent-, and prepare the financial ststernents on the going concem basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the chanty wll continue in business. The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which dixlose with reasonable accuracy at any lime the financ￿1 F(ssition of the chanty. They are atso responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the preventson and detects.on of fraud and other irregularities. So far as the Trustees a￿ aware, there is no ￿leVant infomiation (infomiat￿n needed by the independent examiner in connection with preparing his report) of which the charity's examiner is unaware. and each Trustee has taken all the steps that he or she ought to have taken in ordef to make themselves aware of any relevant information aryj to establish that the examiner i% aware of that infomatKn.
