Objectives and Activities

Summary of the purposes of the charity as set out in its governing document	Para 1.17	For the benefit of children and young people in Cambodia: (1) The advancement of health and the saving of lives by the provision of teaching and training in water safety, swimming instruction and rescue and response skills including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). (2) The advancement of the physical education through the medium of swimming and lifesaving.
Summary of the main activities in relation to those purposes for the public benefit, in particular, the activities, projects or services identified in the accounts.	Para 1.17 and 1.19	SWIM Cambodia’s main activities are to support the delivery and training of drowning prevention interventions in Cambodia, Water Safety Safe Rescue and Resuscitation education. Technical advisory support is given to a local non-governmental organisation who deliver activities.
Statement confirming whether the trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit	Para 1.18	SWIM Cambodia continues to work for the benefit of children and young people in The Kingdom of Cambodia, through the delivery of drowning prevention interventions. The main drowning prevention activities delivered are Water Safety, Safe Rescue and CPR education delivered to children, young people and adult caregivers in Cambodia. SWIM Cambodia has complied with the duty to have due regard to the commission's public benefit guidance when exercising any powers or duties, wherever relevant.

Achievements and Performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole.	Para 1.20	In 2023, SWIM Cambodia worked in partnership with a local non-governmental organisation (NGO) called ‘Hile Teuk Kampuchea’ (HTK). During this time SWM Cambodia trained HTK in the delivery of Water Safety, Safe Rescue and Resuscitation education. In December 2023, 10 new volunteers were trained bringing the total to 12 active trainers. 288 children and 10 adults were educated in Siem Reap, Cambodia. SWIM Cambodia continue to support HTK with technical advisory support, training, and funding. It is expected that SWIM Cambodia will expand it’s drowning prevention interventions through operational delivery by HTK.
