A dlscussion took place and The Oasis Projetvs Managerdecided tO8et onboard and be a part of the team. There was a variety of food rdnging from boxesof cereal, tin ve8etablÈs- like carrots. beans. 5weetcorn, mushrooms. jars of j3m. tin ham. crisps. tin baked beans. tifi spaghetti. tin tomatoes. tin fruit. dried pasta. patkets of rice. microwave rice. packets of rea£ty made tustard. jarsof rnarmaladel jars of sauS. Vegetsrian jars and packets. microwave pasta meals, long life milk tea ba8s. coffee, biscuits. pasta meals in a CUPI soap. toilet rolls. sanitary products. tOOEhpaste. and babywipes. On averdEe. the prolett served 30-4D familles each week. Lots of the residents were slngle peopleol different ages. families with several chIldn and older people. We kept a record each week of h¢)w many households were L4sin8 the service and a breakdown if they are frdmilles with children. couplès or sinKIo petsple living èlone. We needed to keep in mind while bLryinE PTodLKts that some residents otsly have a microwave to heal up any fotsd, as thÈy Ilve on thelrown, told us they didn't realw crKJk a whole meal. butsnacked a lot, while someof the largerfamilie5 needed items such as baked beans and tin VÉ8ÈtaUes io bump up a meal ènd make it stretch further. 50 a lot of thought has to80 intogetting the right ILx)dstosuit different lifestyles

This was fundin8 forthe Oasis rnen's group which had rnn weekly. Due tovulTherable older peoplÈ with undedyiw health conditions having to shield as a¢fvised bythe 8ovemrnent, we had to shut the rnen'sgroup eaA¥ on, so we havÈ yet to use this furKling but itgreat to know we have funding to enable us to restart this8TOUP Strai8ht awaywhÈn it is safe to doso.

We had fundtng from local funder5- Magdalen and Lasher Foundation to buy food for the f)d bags Ètchristmas and children's actNitie5to give 3way bv In2play at Christmas. This fuThlina enabled us to buy lots of extras toadd to food bag5 such as boxes of stuffin8i packets of biscuits. packets of gravry. tin5 of ve8et8bles. dried pasta, tins of baked beans etc to help tide fèmilies overthe holiday period while children were at home. This fundin8 was fealfy important. to enable us to provide extra fcod to families in the area overthe festive time. We importantty also received our second and third trarKh of fundln8 from the NatioThJl Lottery largegfant that was paying forthe salary and Dn costs of ihe Projects Mana8er and the runnin8costs of the Oasis project. This funding has bÈen vital to pay forthe running costs which still ottureven though staff are workin8 from home. ExpÈn5es such as insurafjce. mobile phofie.
