Financial Summary

2022 Kimpton May Festival returns! Having been cancelled for a couple of years due to Covid Kimpton May Festival returned, “Back with a Bang’. We put on a slightly scaled back festival, being sensitive to people’s concerns after the pandemic and even the weather was kind to. It was still clear that the festival was a welcome return and the total raised was just under £28,000, only £2,000 down on previous years.

The Kimpton Art Show was the single largest fund-raising event as usual and donated £4,000 to festival funds. The grand draw raised over £1100, the Music Night over £1,400, the fun run over £800 and the ever popular wine tasting £700.

Local organisations who run stalls can keep half their profits, donating the other half to the festival funds. This 50% retention amounted to just over £6,000, and after expenditure this left the Kimpton May Festival Trust with £12,000 to distribute. Kimpton Parish Church Restoration fund received £5,000 to go towards the cost of repairing & maintaining our beautiful 13th century church. £2000 was given to Kimpton Primary School, and £1000 was given to Kimpton Preschool. We were also able to support Garden House Hospice, Herts Air Ambulance, Isabel Hospice, Keech Cottage Hospice, Kimpton Brownies, Kimpton Guides, Kimpton Scouts, Dementia UK, Kimpton Parish Magazine, Willow Foundation and the RNLI whilst giving a contribution to a local teenager raising funds to attend a World Challenge expedition.

Local clubs, charities and organisations seeking financial support from the Kimpton May Festival Trust should contact the trust with details of their request. The committee also manages a welfare fund which can be accessed by anyone residing in the parish with a special hardship need. Applications for the welfare fund are handled in strict confidence.
