Background Broomgrove Residents Association has been established since 1969, becoming a registered unincorporatéd charity in 1980, prior to raising the capltal to build a communty centre on a piece of land glvan to them by Hastings Borough council in Chiltern Drive. In 200112002 the RA put in successful bids to the national Lottéries charities fund, English Partnerships, church Urban Fund, Single Regeneration fund and several small grant giving bodies, and raised ènough capital to rebuild the community centre. In 2003 the new building was opened to provide a meeting space for the residents of the estate. In 2014, followlng advice from Hastings Voluntary Action, the Trustees and members voted to bècom8 an incorporatied charity and successfully applied to the Charity Commission for regislralion. This was granted in 2015. With our long standing record of service to the local area and the 5ucce55ful transfer of the building there is no long term need for the Residents Associatlon to remain in existence and we intend to de-register from the Charities Register once these accounts have been approved and submitted.
