Para 1.20 - Our Sanctuary Awards programme
ensured that key local services are
accessible to and tailored towards the needs
of asylum seekers and refugees. During the
year these included the local council,
schools, colleges, the university, the city’s
public transport hub and local arts groups
- Development of our Advisory Group of
people with lived refugee experience, to
ensure our work accurately reflects and
responds to the needs of these groups
- Ensuring new arrivals to the city have
access to key, relevant and timely
information via creation of two websites:
‘Free in Bradford’ and ‘Welcome to Bradford’
- Engagement with local, regional and
national media on asylum issues to ensure
that accurate information is in the public
domain
- Supporting and resourcing the local asylum
and refugee support sector via engagement
with the Local Authority, network building,
promotion of their services

Independent Examiner's Report to the trustees of Bradford City of Sanctuary I report to the trustees of Bradford City of Sanctuary (charity no. 1160553) on my examinalion of Ihe accounts of the above charity (Yhe Trust") for the year ended 31 March 2024, as set out on pages 2 & 3 of this document. As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements ol Ihe Charities Act 2011 (Xhe Act"). I report in respect of my examinalion of Ihe Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of Ihe 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 14515)(b) of the Acl. I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in. any material respect: the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Acl; or the accounts did not accord with the accounting records., or the accounts did not comply wilh the applicable r&quiremenls concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Flegulalions 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a Irue and fair, view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
