Heart 4 Harlow Charity Number 1160547 Trustee's Report For The Year Ended 31 December 2024 The Trustees present our report and the financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2024 Statement of Trustee's Responsibilities The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and regulations. In preparing the financial statements the trustees are required to: select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently. make judgments and accounting estimates that are reasonable and prudent. prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the company will continue in business. The trustees are responslble for keeping adequate accountlng records that are sufficient to show and explain the company's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the company and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charity Commission. They are also responslble for safeguarding the assets of the company and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. In and through its partnerships, Heart 4 Harlow seeks to express through words and deeds the love of God shown to Us in Jesus Christ. We celebrate the gift of our life together wlth gratltude and pralse We pray for the well-being of the town and surrounding rural communities through Commerce and Entrepreneurs; Civic Authorities; the College; University and Schools; Charities and Churches. We work together with all people of goodwill for the benefit of others We encourage all in the service of our communities and in the strengthening of family life We seek to challenge all that harms our life together Seeking to do all to the glory of God In Jesus Chrlst's name. Revlew of 2024 Including Public Benefit We were pleased to welcome onto the Trustees Ben Norris in February, and he has already proved a great asset to the team. We glve thanks for Martin Harrls who served as chair from the formation of the charity until he stepped down in June 2024, as he approached his retirement. Ron Kingsmill was elected Chair in August 2024. Since his elertion we have been reviewing how Heart 4 Harlow operates. We have begun a review of Policies and Procedures which will continue through 2025. We are also reviewing the administration and management of the charity in order to 'spread the load, between the Trustees. We are also making changes to our website and methods of communication. During 2024 we:. Organised the Walk with the Cross event on Good Friday, 29th March 2024. Hosted a stall at the Great Get Together summer event on the 6th July. Continued to host weekly zoom and monthly face to face prayer meetlngs. 4 Hosted a meetlng between our newly elected MP, Chris Vince, and mlnlsters from different churches in Harlow in December. A declsion was made not to hold a Chrsitmas celebration in 2024, to give us time to review its purpose and consider whether It continues, and if so in what format. We are thankful to God for the opportunity to engage with Churches and their members across Harlow, as well as many other members of the public who attended our events or artivities. Heart 4 Harlow Independent Examiners Report For The Year Ended 31 December 2024 Heart 4 Harlow Respective responslbilities of trustees and examiner The Charity's Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the account's. The Charity's Trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 114 (2) of the Charities Act 2001 (The Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to Examine the accounts (under section 145 of the 2011 Act); To follow the procedures la id down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners (under sertion 145 (5)(b) of the 2011 Att); and To state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of independent examiner's Statement My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charlty Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideratlons of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the vlew given by the accounts. Independent examlner's statement In the course of my examinatlon, no matter has come to my attention: (l) Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material ￿SpeCt, the trustee5 have not met the requirements to ensure that: -Proper accounting records are kept (In accordance with settion 386 of the 2006 Act; and -accounts are prepared which agree with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2006 Att. or (2) To which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
